27 May High school teacher talks off to a rough start, union says
Ontario’s high school teachers say pre-bargaining talks have gotten off to a rough start, with the two sides already at an impasse over what should be negotiated provincially and what can be left to individual boards.
In a memo sent to members Friday, the Ontario Secondary School Teachers Federation (OSSTF) said it met with the government and the Ontario Public School Boards’ Association (OPSBA) on May 23 “to continue discussions to determine the scope of bargaining at the teacher/occasional teacher central negotiating table” under the two-tier system of bargaining.
