12 Feb Teacher union calls on Durham trustees to ‘shut down’ wording change on school safety
DURHAM — A Durham elementary teachers union is urging trustees to vote against a controversial wording change, that critics says allows the Durham District School Board to dodge liability for staff and student safety.
A notice of motion was introduced at the DDSB’s January board meeting, which proposes a wording change to the policy on student code of conduct and discipline.
The change is subtle.
